Striped Dolphin * Gestreepte Dolfyn * Stenella Coeruleoalba

The length of males are around 2.6 m (8.5 ft) and weigh around 160 kg (352 lb). Females are around 2.4 m (8 ft) and weigh around 150 kg. The striped dolphin moves in large groups of up to thousands.

The striped dolphins were  once plentiful with numbers around 117,880 before 1990. Their numbers have suffered from incidental catches in the fisheries industry.

Over the years, there have been a number of strandings that have raised concerns. The population of striped dolphins is declining due to their bad conservation status and the mounting amount of trash that enters the ocean every year.
