Round-eared Elephant Shrew * Rondeoorklaasneus * Macroscelides Proboscideus

They guard the female before and after heat, to eliminate other male competition. This makes male round-eared elephant shrews monogamous and more vulnerable to their surroundings as they spend a majority of their time dedicated to this tactic.

Klaasneus
Previously misleadingly named the "short-eared elephant shrew". It is found in Botswana, Namibia, and South Africa. They eat insects, shoots, and roots.
